GEMS (Girls Everywhere Meeting the Savior) seeks to equip women and girls to live radically faithful lives--doing justice, loving mercy, and walking humbly with God. This year's theme is "Get Wisdom: Go Beyond the Gold!"
Meetings are held at 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of September-April. Girls in 2nd-8th join together for praise & worship, class time, craft time, badge work, and service projects.
The purpose of GEMS Girls' clubs is to bring girls into a living relationship with Jesus Christ. To help foster this all-important relationship between each girl and Christ, other relationships are nurtured as well--between girls and between girls and their counselor (leader).
Girls in second through eighth grades are eligible for membership.
Many fun and exciting things happen:
- Participate in team building.
- Learn how to apply the Bible to your life.
- Engage in thoughtful discussions about real life issues.
- Develop important life skills through badge activities.
- Make creative and fun crafts.
Girls are organized into small groups with one leader or counselor. It is through these small groups and the interactions that take place that faith is nurtured and developed, and long-lasting friendships are made.
The ministry of GEMS Girls' Clubs is non-denominational with club participation in several different denominations and non-denominational churches throughout the United States and Canada. Curriculum is developed from a reformed perspective. The ministry has been serving churches for over forty-five years. During these years, thousands of girls' lives have been changed forever. Today, there are more than 21,000 girls who are members of GEMS Girls' Clubs, with 5,200 women enthusiastically serving as their counselors and mentors.
